Cher began her career with British Petroleum (BP) in 1980 as a programmer. Since 1996 she has moved into senior roles as Consultant, Project Manager, Business Architect/Analyst covering Service Delivery, Software Specification and Implementation, Risk and Quality Management, Team leading and Mentoring role with major European and US companies in various major financial cities.
She has successfully led and helped multinationals (e.g. Lehman Brothers, Citibank, Clearstream International, Credit Suisse First Boston, Logica plc, J.P.Morgan Investment Bank) to introduce and adopt new approaches in implementing and managing complex projects and systems (e.g. internet banking, compliance and conversions, operational risk management systems, derivatives trading, clearing and settlement, and outsourced programmes/projects).
Cher has turned to integrating her relationship management and facilitative skills with her project management and business analysis experiences. Besides her mathematics with computing degree and an MBA, she has also studied specialist modules (i.e., Data Protection, Software Protection, IP) in computer and communications law (LLM with Queen Mary College, London) and qualified in International Commercial Arbitration. She is an accredited Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Mediator. She has a PhD in Computer Science. Her PhD was on data privacy harms, breach notification, and incident response, as required under the GDPR.
Cher continues to pursue her interests in technology management and software development processes with active participation in various professional interest groups focusing on process improvement, quality, legal/compliance, and people in the delivery of products and services.
Her hybrid skills in business and technology management, combined with her interests in data-related rules/laws and alternative dispute resolution has resulted in a published article on electronic discovery/disclosure and her blog at www.jollyvip.com/edisclosure
Combining her personal experiences and interests in traditional healing methods and yoga, along with her diverse background, she is able to craft holistic solutions for clients seeking meaningful and healing experiences. These are unique combinations in the world of dispute resolution, where rules/laws create more problems or hinder the natural course of resolving them.
Her consultancy company, Jollyvip ltd (since 2006), has market exposure covering UK/Europe, and South East Asia. Cher has lived in China (Beijing, Shanghai) and Malaysia. Currently, she is based in the UK and is flexible with location.
